Privacy Policy

This policy covers sofilakes.com and our campaign pages at now.sofilakes.com, live.sofilakes.com and grandopening.sofilakes.com. Sofi Lakes is a residential community in Katy, Texas. If you contact us, book a tour or browse the site, this describes what happens to your information.

We only ask for what we need to reply to you.

• Booking a tour: your name, email address and phone number, plus anything optional you choose to add — your preferred day and time, whether you are pre-approved for financing, and any note you write.
• Messaging us: the contents of your message and the email address or phone number you sent it from, so we can answer.
• Text messages: if you tick the box to receive texts, we record that you agreed and the exact wording you agreed to. It is never pre-ticked, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP.

We measure how the site is used so we know which pages help people. Our own measurement is deliberately minimal:

• We do not store your IP address. It is combined with your browser type into a one-way code that cannot be turned back into you, and then discarded.
• We record the pages viewed, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location — country, state and city — worked out at the network edge. Not a precise location, and never your address.
• Our own measurement sets no cookies. Raw records are kept for 90 days.

Being straight with you about this matters more than sounding good: the site also loads Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. Google Analytics does set cookies and does send information about your visit to Google, under Google’s own privacy policy. That is separate from our own measurement described above.

We also set a cookie when someone signs in to the resident, builder or staff areas. It keeps you signed in and does nothing else.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them does not stop you using the public site.

• To arrange and confirm your tour, including sending you a calendar invitation.
• To answer your questions and follow up about homes you asked about.
• To pass your enquiry to the builder whose home you are interested in, so they can help you.
• To send community updates if you asked for them.
• To understand which pages and campaigns are useful, using the measurement described above.
• To keep the site secure and to meet our legal obligations.

We share personal information only with the companies that run parts of this service for us, and only so they can do that job:

• Builders at Sofi Lakes — when your enquiry is about their home, so they can answer you.
• Vercel (website hosting) and Supabase (database hosting), which store the site and its data.
• Resend, which delivers our email.
• Google — Analytics as described above, and Google Maps where maps appear on the site.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety or rights of people at Sofi Lakes. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertisers to target you elsewhere.

• Tour bookings and enquiries: while we are working with you, and afterwards as a record of the enquiry.
• Text-message consent: kept for as long as you are opted in, and after you opt out as proof of what you agreed to and when.
• Website measurement: raw records for 90 days; totals with nothing identifying in them may be kept longer.

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, and stop texts by replying STOP. Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of other states may have similar ones.

To make a request, email info@sofilakes.com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, so that nobody else can make a request in your name. There is no charge, and asking will never change how you are treated.

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored so they cannot be read back, and shared account credentials in our internal tools are encrypted with a key held outside the database. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if something happens that affects you.

This site is meant for adults looking for a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than slipped in.
